Forestry Colleges

Forestry course is needed because of the fact that forests are the important part of our ecosystem and any damage to the forests will affect the ecosystem which in turn will affect our life. Hence there is a need of this course for producing some trained and efficient forest managers. Apart from the management of forests and trees, Forestry courses also involves the study of Genetics, Botany, Climatology, Hydrology, Biology, economics, forest management and soil science. Hence Forestry cannot be claimed only as a education field, it is more of art of science and knowledge.

A good forest manager must possess a deep and complete working knowledge and information regarding the fields mentioned above. Knowing all the above fields from the very root he will be able to work out the problems of a particular forest. A Bachelor’s degree in Forestry is offered by many colleges in India, some of which offers direct admission on the marks obtained by the students in their class 12 examination while other conducts entrance exams for admission in their colleges. Hence for getting admission in those colleges a candidate has to appear for the entrance exam.
