Mechanical Engineering is an Engineering field which deals with the application of the principles of Physics for designing, analysis, maintenance and manufacturing of the different mechanical systems. Mechanical Engineering is considered to be one of the oldest and broadest amongst the various disciplines of Engineering. It requires deep understanding of the core concepts of thermodynamics, mechanics, kinetics, fluid mechanics and energy. A mechanical Engineer uses these principles to design and analyze aircrafts, watercrafts, motor vehicles, cooling and heating systems, medical devices, industrial machineries and equipments, robotics, manufacturing plants and various other things.

The basic subjects of Mechanical engineering are statics and dynamics, thermodynamics, solid mechanics and strength of materials, pneumatics and hydraulics, fluid dynamics and fluid mechanics, mechanism design, material engineering, measurement and instrumentation, control theory, engineering design and Mechatronics etc. A huge number of Government as well as private colleges in India offers Mechanical Engineering course to the aspirants.
