Unani Colleges
Unanipathy has its origin in Greece and was introduced in India with the advent of Islamic Civilization in India some thousand years back. Known earlier by the name of ‘Galenic’, Unani system of medicine is very similar to Ayurveda. Unanipathy is a part of Indian Medical system and possesses and impressive track record. In fact India is one of the leading countries in the world where Unani System of medicine is practiced.
There are number of private and government colleges in India which provide Unani Medical and Surgery courses. These colleges offer a Bachelors degree of 5 ½ years and 3 years MD in Unani medical sciences. The colleges also conduct entrance exams for admission under this course. The candidates must be permanent resident of a particular state in order to get admission in the colleges. Also due to the limited number of seats very few candidates make it to the Unani colleges.
