Biophysics Entrance Exam
Biophysics- as the name suggests is the science which combines Biology and Physics. Biophysics deals with the use and study of physics in different fields of biology. The purpose of studying physics with different fields of biology is to investigate various biological processes. Nanotechnology, Biochemistry, systems biology, bioengineering, enzyme kinetics or structural biology is the fields where Biophysics is applied. Its application in all these fields reveals the vastness of its research.
To probe the different mysteries of life, Biophysics applies the facts of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. A Biophysicists consider how the heart works, how the brain processes such a huge number of information, how plants synthesizes food with the help of light energy, how chemicals are able to activate certain genes which are capable of fighting with diseases, and so on. There are galore of such mysteries available for a biophysicist to work on.
If you are doing a general degree course in Biophysics then you will get a chance to do research works in laboratories on the above mentioned facts. After completing your general degree course you can also go for advanced studies in Genetics, medicine, pharmacology and various other related fields.
There are handful of colleges in India which offers Biophysics to the deserving students. Hence, not many students get chance of studying Biophysics.
