Chemical Engineering Entrance Exam

Chemical Engineering is that discipline of Engineering which involves the application of life science (viz. microbiology, biology and biochemistry etc.) and physical science (viz. physics and chemistry) with mathematics, for the conversion of the chemicals and raw materials into more valuable and useful forms. In addition to this Chemical engineering is also concerned with the new techniques and materials like fuel cells, biomedical engineering and nanotechnology etc.

Chemical engineers are employed for design, maintenance and improvement of the processes which involves biological or chemical transformations. Chemical engineers also ensure that the large scale manufacturing industries are operated safely, economically and sustainably. The various products produced by the chemical industries are plastics, agrochemicals (insecticides, fertilizers, and herbicides), explosives, fragrances, adhesives, ceramics, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, elastomers, detergent products, additives, paints etc.

One can get admission in various government and private colleges which offers Chemical Engineering course to the students. An entrance exam is conducted on national level as well as by the individual institutions for admissions under this course. The entrance exams contain Multiple Choice Questions form Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. A candidate has to score good marks in the entrance exam because the candidates with better score are given first preference.
