Food Technology Entrance Exam

Food Technology applies the food science to the preservation, packaging, selection, processing, use and distribution of nutritious, safe and wholesome food. Food Technologists and Food Scientist study the microbiological, chemical and physical makeup of food. Different Food scientists are specialized in different areas of Food Technology and to develop ways for preserving, packaging, processing or storing food, according to the regulations and specifications as provided by the industry and Government, depends upon their area of specialization.

We, the consumers, never think how much endeavor these food technologists and food scientists have put in order to deliver us tasty, convenient, safe and nutritious food.  Some schools have also kept food technology as a part of their curriculum and alongside teach how to cook, nutritional facts about foods and food manufacturing process.

There are many Food Technology colleges in India. Some of them provide B.Sc degree, some provides diploma, and some provides B.Tech degree in Food Technology or Food Processing Technology while others offer M.Sc degree. An entrance exam is conducted by these institutes for the admission purpose. Apart from fulfilling other eligibility criteria as provided by the colleges, a candidate has to clear this entrance exam, and then only he will get a chance of admission. Candidates with lower ranks are given first preference.
