Genetics Entrance Exam

Genetics, which comes under Biology, is the study of heredity and Genes and is related to microbiology and biotechnology. The field of Genetics is a high growing field and is throwing up many job opportunities in the market. At present Genetic engineering is not offered as a separate engineering discipline by most of the colleges/universities. It is taught as a part of microbiology, biotechnology and biochemistry. Students who aspire to pursue their career in genetics engineering or genetics must study physics, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry in class 12 and must have a probing mind, dedication, aptitude for scientific research and team spirit.

A candidate has to appear for the entrance exams for getting admission in any of the colleges which provide genetics course. Entrance exam is normally of 3 hours duration and contains questions form mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Special emphasis is given on the Genetics portion of the Biological sciences. A candidate can go for either B.Sc or B.Tech courses in Under-graduate level and M.sc or M. Tech in post-graduate level.
