Leather Technology Entrance Exam

Leather Technology is a very important field of education as leather is utilized in producing various articles like footwear, belts, bags, luggage, clothing, harness, bookbinding, saddles, hydraulic seals used in rockets, underwater craft and aircraft, sports goods, wallets and many other things. In spite of its long history, the leather industry has seen a rapid change in the twentieth century and an accelerating one in the last decade. The quality, consistency and variety of the products have changed with time and have improved as the world has progressed and modernized.

The leather technologists apply pure and applied sciences for the production of high quality leather. The pure sciences which are involved in Leather Technology are Physics, Chemistry, Microbiology and Biochemistry, combined with chemical and mechanical engineering, statistics, polymer sciences, management and computing.

There are number of Government as well as private institutions in India which offers Leather Technology course to the desiring candidates. All they need to do is to appear for the entrance exams which are conducted on national as well as state level. Only after clearing the entrance exam a candidate is eligible for getting admission in Leather Technology colleges.
