Marine Engineering Entrance Exam

Marine Engineering is that branch of engineering which deals with the design, production, installation, support and operation of the equipments and systems which control and propel marine vehicles which are able to carry crew, cargo and passengers. Marine engineering is more or less related to Mechanical engineering, but the modern marine engineers require adequate knowledge of electronic, electrical, chemistry, hydraulic, ship design or naval architecture, pneumatic, control engineering, process engineering and for certain military vessels even nuclear technology.

On board a ship a Marine engineer has to take care of the maintenance and operation of the propulsion system and various other systems including power generation, lighting, refrigeration, water systems and air conditioning on board the ship. Marine Engineers also works in other areas like Marine renewable energy research, Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Research and infrastructure industries.
