Medical Entrance Exam
Medical education is one of the foremost educations in India for which there is a craze among the Indian Students. Getting into a medical college is their dream and to achieve their dream they leave no stones unturned, but in the end very few make it to the Medical Colleges. This happens due to the limited number of seats which are available for medical aspirants.
The medical education in India is controlled by the Medical Council of India (MCI) which sets some standards for medical education in each and every college for MBBS, BDS, MDS, MD, and MS courses. To get into any of the medical colleges for any of the above courses, candidates have to appear for entrance exams which are conducted on a state level as well as on a National level. Some of the national level medical entrance exams are AIIMS Delhi, AIPMT Delhi, AFMC Pune etc. Apart for these Entrance exams there are CET exams which are conducted by the individual states for the domicile candidates. Candidates from any states are not allowed to appear for the medical entrance exams of other states.
The success rates in all the medical entrance exams is very less as the ratio of total number of seats available and the total number of candidates appearing for the exam is very less. Some Government and private colleges also have some seats reserved for NRI and foreign students. Every college also have reserved quotas for SC/ST and OBC candidates, who are given more privilege than the general candidates.
