Mining Engineering Entrance Exam

Mining engineering is a discipline of engineering which deals with the science, the theory, the technology, the practice, and application of extracting minerals from natural sources and its processing. Mining engineers are entrusted with the task of locating natural mineral reserves, petroleum reserves, and reserves of other natural substances. Then they have to lay out plans, shafts, devices, quarries or inclines for the safe mining of these natural resources, which may be coal, petroleum and other metallic or non-metallic minerals.

There is no dearth of job opportunities for the mining engineers as there are many public sector and government organizations such as Geological Survey of India, Indian Bureau of Mines, and mining companies like Coal India Limited (CIL), HCL, IPCL, Neyvelli Lignite Corporation, etc., who employs the mining engineers for the extraction of processing of the minerals.

An entrance exam for the admission under this course is conducted by the institutions which provide this course to the students. The eligibility criteria to get admission is that the students must have cleared their class 12 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their main subject and they have to clear the entrance exam. Admissions will depend on the performance of the students in the entrance exam i.e. students with better scores will get admission first.
