BINC or Bioinformatics National Certification examination is held by University of Poona on behalf of Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India for admission of students in the post graduation degree in bioinformatics. There are scholarships for the top 5 scorers.

There are 4 subjects- biology, physical and chemical sciences, IT, and bioinformatics divided into 2 papers. Paper 1 is objective type while paper 2 is computer based practical. The detail syllabus is available on the website of BINC.

Application Form

Application can be downloaded and sent via post accompanied by the examination fees to the coordinator, BINC exam.

Cost

For general Candidate- Rs 600
For PH/ SC/ ST candidate- Rs 450

Paymnet should be done in demand draft in favor of ‘the Coordinator, BINC exam’ payable at Poona

Important Dates

Date of registration – January

Date of BINC exam- Last week of February.

Eligibility

Any student who has completed his or her graduation in any discipline of medicine, agriculture, sciences, veterinary, pharmacy, engineering and technology from any recognized university is eligible to appear for BINC examination. Final year students appearing for their final graduation test may also apply.
