GCET 2010

Goa Common Entrance Test or GCET is conducted on behalf of the Government of Goa by the Directorate of Technical Education. GCET is also known by the name of Goa CET and is conducted for the admissions in various Bachelor’s degree programs like Engineering, Medical, Dentistry, Architecture and Pharmacy. The candidates who get selected in this exam get admission in various private and government aided colleges in the state of GOA.

The entrance for Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) is held at Government Polytechnic, Panaji and Goa College of Architecture, Panaji.

MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery

BE - Bachelor of Engineering

BDS - Bachelor of Dental Surgery

BArch - Bachelor of Architecture

BHMS - Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery

BPharma - Bachelor of Pharmacy

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must be an Indian Citizen. The candidates must have cleared their class 12 exam or its equivalent from any of the recognized institutes with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates appearing for Medicine and Dentistry must attain a minimum of 17 years of age as on the day off admission.

Examination Pattern

GCET consists of 5 sets of question papers which cover the 5 subjects, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Computer Science. The question paper contains objective type questions. For each correct answer 1 mark is awarded, but for wrong answer there is no negative marking. The candidates have to mention the field earlier and have to appear for the combination of subjects according to their choice of field.
