Talking about the engineering exams, would it be complete without mentioning the name of the one of the prestigious exams of the country. Yes! You guessed it all correct; we are talking about IIT JEE, one of the premier and elite entrance examinations of the country. Students in huge numbers sit for this exam, but only a few meritorious or you can say lucky students clear.
Talking about the IITJEE; it indeed is considered as one of the toughest in the country. The reasons are obvious, it is the best in the country or if you go the other way round it is has limited number of seats. Wait! Wait! Did I say limited number of seats? My apologies! Though it has limited number of seats, but endeavor has been taken to increase the same by opening two new IITs at Indore and Himachal Pradesh, which would start taking in students from the current 2009 session.
Sale of Application form
The sale of IITJEE application form usually starts in the mid November and continues till end week of December. Some designated banks are allotted with this task in respective zones. Moreover, you also have the option of submitting the form online.
Cost
The cost of application form, both online and offline:
• Rs. 1000 for general (male) and OBC candidates
• Rs. 500 for female and SC/ST/PD candidates
• $100 for Dubai centre candidates

Last date for submission of completed application form: Last week of December (likely)
Entrance Date: April
Result Declaration: May
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate must have cleared 10+2 or its equivalent form a recognized board or University. He or she must not have accepted admission to any of IITs, IT- BHU and ISM, Dhanbad. Candidates appearing in their final exam are also eligible to apply.
