WBJEE 2010
WBJEE or West Bengal Joint Entrance examination is conducted in west Bengal every year for getting into various Engineering and medical colleges of the state. The examination is conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. Commonly known as WBJEE amongst the students, this exam is the most sought after exam in the state. Why not? With the likes of Jadavapur University, BESU, Kalyani Government, Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and other numerous private engineering colleges; who would not?
As regards the pattern of the exam, the joint Entrance examination has MCQ type of question. This comprises of the 80 percent, and the remaining 20 percent comprises of short type of question. Physics and Chemistry constitute a single paper, whereas mathematics and biology, separately, constitutes other two important papers in the examination. Those applying only for engineering have to give physics chemistry and mathematics, whereas those applying for Medicals have to sit for physics chemistry and biology. There is also a provision of common category under which the students have to undergo test in both the categories.
Application Form:
The application forms of West Bengal Joint Entrance examination can be availed from the United Bank of India, in selected branches. The application forms will be available from the first week of December till the first week of January.
Cost:
The form for only the Engineering or for the Medical courses costs Rs 500, where as the form for the common type costs Rs 650.
Important dates:
The West Bengal Entrance examination holds in the third week of April. All the paper are held on the same day with equal duration of time.
Eligibility:
The candidates appearing for the WBJEE should be at least 10 + 2 passed or must be appearing for it. The candidates should have either physics chemistry and mathematics or biology or both in their 10 + 2 examination. The candidate or their parents, either of them should be able to satisfy the domicile condition given in the form.
